February 9-11, 2026

3-day course

$300 per student

Public Safety Services, Building J
543 College Road,
Smithfield, NC 27577

This three-day course will benefit crime scene investigators, detectives, and anyone involved with law enforcement who investigates crime scenes involving bloodstain patterns. This course will help the criminal investigator identify, document, and collect all evidence at a scene where blood evidence is present, assisting them in reconstructing the incident. The students will learn how to use the tools necessary to determine the trajectory of the blood and the possible locations of the suspect and/or victim at the time of the incident. Students will also learn to examine the bloodstain evidence to determine the types of events that occurred during the incident. The students will apply classroom lessons in hands-on scenarios that enhance the learning process.

This course will provide the new and seasoned detective with the tools necessary to conduct a violent crime investigation.

Classroom instruction will be lecture style. Hands-on training will be conducted in an indoor or outdoor field environment. Students will have the opportunity to download the course presentation onto their thumb drive. Dress for inclement weather is required.

To attend, you must be a sworn law enforcement officer or Crime Scene Investigator employed by a local, city, or State Law Enforcement Agency.

Contact Detective Terry Brandon (ret) at 704-975-8151 or by email: wtbrandon@seinvestigativegroup.com to verify your law enforcement agency and receive registration information and your "Event Invite Code" to register for this class.

SOUTHEASTERN INVESTIGATIVE GROUP

Southeastern Investigative Group was started to provide hands-on homicide investigation training courses. Hands-on training is an effective way to teach complex and straightforward investigative principles and to put them into practice in a field environment. Our students will put their training into practice through our scenario-driven, hands-on training.

Our experienced Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators will take the students step by step through the investigative process and review their performance. Feedback will be provided to develop the student's investigative skills further. We strongly promote the team concept in homicide investigations; that is how our students will train.
